Each week, I’ll make the observations and you can draw the conclusions with your own team.
Trends will highlight the things that could shape your SuperCoach decisions. Trades will put the more obvious advice in front of you when injuries, roles or other circumstances force the issue.
TRENDS
As the season progresses, the Trends will get a lot smaller, and the trade advice will get a lot more involved.
TNF: Packers/Falcons
Drake London should've allayed any fears people had about his production. Michael Penix Jr.'s return at quarterback re-established London as the focal point of Atlanta's passing game.
EARLY SUNDAY SLATE
Jaylen Warren was relied on heavily with Rico Dowdle out, finishing with 127 rushing yards on 17 carries while adding 49 yards from three receptions.
Drake Maye has seven turnovers through three games, while the Patriots' passing game has struggled to find any consistency.
Bhayshul Tuten has established himself as the Jaguars' bell cow across the first three weeks.
Terry McLaurin returned to form with Marcus Mariota at quarterback, with McLaurin and Stefon Diggs combining for 16 targets.
Jahmyr Gibbs has established himself as a genuine bell cow for Detroit, recording at least 22 touches in each of the first three games.
Denzel Boston and Harold Fannin Jr. are emerging as Cleveland's most productive receiving options.
Seattle's backfield has become a timeshare, with Holani, Wilson and Price all getting a near-equal share of the offensive snaps.
Chuba Hubbard has resumed a bell-cow role with Jonathon Brooks sidelined for at least six weeks, recording 23 touches in Week 3 while AJ Dillon served as his backup.
Isaiah Likely has failed to replicate his heavy Week 1 involvement over the past two games, suggesting his opening-week performance was more of a spike than the expectation going forward.
Kenneth Walker continues to operate as the focal point of Kansas City's backfield, recording 76 touches through three games while also becoming a factor in the receiving game.
Rashee Rice's role in Kansas City's passing game has grown each week, with his targets increasing from two to six to nine across the first three games. In Week 3, no other Chiefs receiver had more than three targets.
James Cook remains Buffalo's bell cow, but Josh Allen's goal-line usage is limiting his touchdown ceiling. Cook has still been one of the NFL's most dangerous runners, accounting for two of the league's four games this season with at least five explosive runs of 10+ yards.
DJ Moore has established himself as Josh Allen's preferred receiver, recording eight and 10 targets in his two full games for Buffalo.
Omarion Hampton and Keaton Mitchell split the backfield for the Chargers the most evenly we've seen this season so far. Hampton had more rushing attempts, but Mitchell was far more efficient.
LATE SUNDAY SLATE
Jeremiyah Love finally received a bell-cow workload in Week 3, recording 26 touches, more than his first two weeks combined.
Brock Bowers returned from injury and immediately resumed his role as the focal point of the Raiders' passing game, catching 10 of 13 targets for 116 yards and a touchdown.
SNF: Broncos/Rams
Jaylen Waddle has struggled to embed himself in the Broncos offence, only reaching meaningful yardage once so far through three games.
MNF: Bears/Eagles
DeVonta Smith has settled in as Philadelphia's top receiving target.
WORTH MONITORING
De’Von Achane officially has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season. Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright will jostle for lead back duties.
Jalen Coker suffered a quad injury during the game, making it difficult to assess his Week 3 usage. Updated reporting has revealed a minor quad strain, with Coker not yet ruled out of Week 4.
Baker Mayfield will miss a minimum of three weeks after dislocating his throwing-hand thumb. An MRI revealed no fracture, ligament or tendon damage, with his return dependent on regaining enough strength to properly grip and throw the ball.
Justin Jefferson left the game against Tampa Bay with an ankle injury and did not return. Updated reporting has revealed it is not serious, and he is a strong chance to play in Week 4.
Breece Hall is considered week-to-week with a thigh injury, putting his availability for Week 4 in doubt.
Garrett Wilson was evaluated for a head injury, with coach Aaron Glenn revealing post-game that he had been cleared to return, but did not re-enter the game.
Mike Evans exited in the second quarter with a rib injury and did not return. Updated reporting has revealed a rib strain, making him day-to-day.
Green Bay has signed veteran offensive linemen Laken Tomlinson and Mekhi Becton, potentially freeing Tucker Kraft from some of his blocking responsibilities and allowing him to play a bigger role in the Packers' passing offence moving forward.
TRADES
With only three weeks of the season completed, there is little reason to make trades at the moment.
Last week should’ve been where you fixed any cash-generating or role-change issues.
Any moves should be after sustained poor production, not one bad week.
Unless injuries force your hand, holding trades and allowing established roles and price movements to develop is likely the best approach this week.
